Upper Taylor Half Day
Upper Taylor River Colorado — Fast paddling action for the 2 hour Class III whitewater trip. If you are looking for our quickest trip with great whitewater, the Upper Taylor River will fit the bill. We jump right into the action at Initiation Rapid after a thorough river safety talk and paddling instruction. You’ll paddle to the commands of your qualified guide as a team, and navigate several rapids in quick succession. Rosy Lane Rapid and Generator Alley are just a couple of the rapids after a lemonade stop halfway through the trip, with a chance to do the “Nestea Plunge” if you dare.
A quick 30-minute drive from either Crested Butte or Gunnison, you will meet at our Boathouse in Taylor Canyon. From there we will hop a quick shuttle to the river and be on our way. This trip is offered both morning and afternoon 7 days a week.
Must be in reasonably good physical condition.
